The Culture Fair occurred on January 25, 2024, from 2:45 – 3:30!

Our pre-k students are ending their unit on culture titled Not All the Same, Not All Different. To share what they learned, the pre-kindergarten team hosted a Culture Fair where Harmony students experienced food, clothes, celebrations, art, and language from various countries.

Did you know that one in seven D.C. residents is an immigrant, while about one in nine residents is a native-born U.S. citizen with at least one immigrant parent? This year, we celebrated the countries represented by DC’s top 6 immigrant populations:

El Salvador (PKM)
China (PKM)
Turkey (PK3)
Ethiopia (PK3)
Trinidad (PK4)
Mexico (PK4)

With the support of their parents and teachers, our pre-K students researched an aspect of culture from one of the countries listed and presented their findings to the school, along with their collaborators. The research projects were exhibited in Harmony’s cafeteria for the entire school to experience.

Dear Harmony DC Families,

Harmony DC will be closed Friday, January 19th due to the snow that is expected to start early in the morning and continue until afternoon.

We will resume school on Monday. Stay safe and warm.

Good evening, Harmony DC Families,
On Wednesday, January 17, DC temperatures are expected to drop to 19 degrees but will feel like 8. Roads are still not safe. We know that DC Public Schools decided to open 2 hours late, but we have an early release on Wednesdays.
Because it’s an early release day for Harmony DC, roads are unsafe, and temperatures will not rise to melt the ice, Harmony DC will be closed on Wednesday, January 17th.
Be safe!

Due to the ongoing inclement weather, Harmony DC PCS will be closed on Tuesday, January 16th.

Stay warm and safe!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It’s almost re-enrollment season for the 2024-2025 school year. The official re-enrollment and DC residency verification will start on April 1, 2024. However, we need to know if your child(ren) will be returning next year, so we can reserve a spot for him/her. Please fill out and submit this form to the main office by March 1, 2024, to secure your child’s spot for the 2024-2025 school year. We will contact you on or after April 1, 2024, to start the official re-enrollment of your child for the next school year. Forms received unsigned, incomplete, or after the closing date will affect enrollment status for the next year. Please print clearly.

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt thanks to each one of you who contributed to the success of our 7th Annual Science Fair. Your enthusiasm, support, and engagement made the event truly memorable.

Our students worked tirelessly on their projects, and your presence and interest in their work meant the world to them. The energy and curiosity that filled the venue were a testament to the vibrant community we have at Harmony DC.

From interactive displays to engaging conversations, the Science Fair showcased the incredible talent and dedication of our students. It was inspiring to see our school community come together to celebrate science, innovation, and the pursuit of knowledge.

We extend our gratitude to the parents, teachers, staff, and students who played a role in making this event a success. Your commitment to fostering a love for science and learning is what makes our school community so special.

Thank you once again for your support. We look forward to more collaborative and inspiring events in the future.
