Dear Harmony DC Parents and Guardians,
We hope you are having a wonderful holiday season. We are closely watching the COVID-19 news. As you may know, COVID-19 cases in the DC area are increasing.
No School January 3rd and 4th
Mayor Bowser unveiled the Covid-19 action plan on December 20, 2021. According to the plan, all public schools, including Harmony DC PCS will be closed on Monday, January 3rd, and Tuesday, January 4th. Those two days will be used to prepare a safe in-person return to the schools.
Virtual School January 5th, 6th, and 7th
Harmony DC PCS will provide virtual education from Wednesday, January 5th to Friday, January 7th. We will resume in-person learning starting Monday, January 10th, 2022.
Covid Testing
Harmony DC asks all our staff and students to get tested prior to in-person learning.
Harmony DC will distribute at-home rapid Antigen COVID-19 tests to the students. Tests can be picked up from the school starting Monday, January 3rd after 1:00 pm. Also, you can get the COVID-19 test at DC area testing centers.
Virtual Instruction and Materials
Harmony DC teachers will provide online synchronous education to all students from Wednesday to Friday (1/5/2022-1/7/2022). Harmony DC will distribute Chromebooks to all students on Tuesday, January 4th. We will give weekly printed packages on Tuesday. You can download weekly packages from google drive under “January 5-7” documents. Zoom links will be available on the Chromebooks and on google drive.
Our food vendor will prepare a weekly meal package for all students. Weekly meal packages can be picked up from school starting Monday, January 3rd at 10:00 am.
