Dear Harmony DC Families and Staff,

As Veterans Day approaches, Harmony DC Public Charter School is excited to plan a special Veterans Day Recognition Program to honor the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.

We would like to extend a special invitation to all veterans and active-duty service members among our parents, guardians, family members, and staff to join us for this meaningful celebration.

Our goal is to recognize their service, express our gratitude for their sacrifices, and provide our students with an opportunity to learn about the importance of service, courage, and dedication to our country.

Veterans Day Recognition Program

  • Date: Tuesday, November 10, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 – 10:30 am
  • Location: Harmony DC Public Charter School

We Want to Recognize You!

If you or a member of your family is a veteran or currently serving in the military, we kindly ask you to complete the brief survey below. This will help us plan the celebration and ensure that every service member who wishes to be recognized is included.

We look forward to bringing our school community together to celebrate our heroes and teach our students the importance of honoring those who serve.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice!

Help Us Plan for the Future of Our School

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are exploring the possibility of expanding our school to include a middle school program (Grades 6–8). Your feedback is important as we evaluate the interest and needs of our school community.

Please take a few minutes to complete this brief survey. Your responses will help us determine whether a middle school program would be a valuable addition to our school.

What is a 530A Account?

A 530A Account is a new, tax-advantaged federal investment account designed to help children build long-term financial security. Key details include:

  • Children born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028 are eligible to receive a one-time $1,000 federal contribution to jump-start their account.
  • Children born between 2016 and 2024 may also be eligible for a $250 seed contribution from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation if they live in a zip code with a median family income of approximately $118,000 or less, based on U.S. Census Bureau data.
  • No additional contributions are required, but family, friends, and employers can contribute over time to help the account grow.
  • Accounts are managed through the official app, where families can determine eligibility and get started.

As of early October 2026, many DC children have been automatically enrolled in 530A accounts. However, families still need to claim their accounts in order to make additional contributions, so it’s important that they take that next step.

Congratulations to our October Students of the Month!

We are celebrating these students for the growth, persistence, and school pride they demonstrated throughout September, along with their positive contributions to our school community.

One honoree is not pictured, but we look forward to taking her photo when she returns!

As a reminder, each student received a certificate, a Harmony bag, and a Harmony T-shirt that may be worn as a uniform shirt. We will also celebrated them with Chick-fil-A lunch at school on Friday, October 9!

We are proud of you! Harmony families, join us in celebrating our honorees!

Dear Harmony DC Families,

During the first week of October, our scholars enjoyed a fun-filled field trip to Cox Farms! Students explored the farm, enjoyed fall activities, and made wonderful memories with their classmates and teachers.

Thank you to our dedicated staff and chaperones for making this experience possible. We appreciate your continued support in providing our scholars with meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom!
