We will be showing our Mustang P.R.I.D.E. this year in our character selections. Your character must represent one of our Mustang P.R.I.D.E. values (Perseverance, Reliability, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy). How does your character represent one of our Mustang P.R.I.D.E. values? Include how your character acts in ways that bring our values to life in our handout and submit them to Mr. Montgomery by Friday, October 27th. Which value will you help bring to life?

Please fill out the character and book description that will be sent home with your scholar and return it to your child’s teacher or Mr. Montgomery by Friday, October 27th 2023.
Character Day will be held on Monday, October 30th 2023.

This will be a celebration where scholars can come in dressed as their favorite story book character that shows a Harmony DC Mustang P.R.I.D.E. value. Scholars must fill out and submit the attached sheet identifying their favorite character and their connection to our Mustang P.R.I.D.E. values in order to wear their outfit.

OSSE and DC Health are pleased to announce recurring mobile vaccination clinics at three locations provided by KIDS’ Mobile Medical Clinic (KMMC)/Ronald McDonald Care Mobile (RMHC). Click here for the flyer. Students can receive their vaccinations at any of the three clinic locations, regardless of the student’s school. Students will be seen regardless of insurance status. Care comes with no direct cost to patients—families will never be billed for care.

For students to receive immunizations at a mobile clinic, parents/guardians should:

  • Be present with the student.

  • Complete registration and consent form prior to arrival

  • Fill out and bring the Screening Checklist Form

  • Make every effort to bring vaccine records or check with their school on what vaccinations the student needs.

Please direct mobile clinic questions to Kiersten Lally, Nurse Clinician for KMMC/RMHC at (202) 444-8888 or communitypediatrics20@medstar.net.

Detailed Test Results

Celebrating Our Outstanding State Test Results!

Dear Harmony DC PCS Families,

I am thrilled to share some incredible news with all of you. The results of this year’s state tests are in, and I am overjoyed to announce that we have achieved remarkable success! Our staff, students, and parents’ dedication, hard work, and commitment have truly paid off, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished together.

Our students’ outstanding performance on these state tests is a testament to the unwavering support and guidance they receive every day from our talented educators and staff. It reflects the countless hours of preparation, the innovative teaching methods, and the nurturing environment that we have all worked diligently to create.

I am immensely proud to announce that we have not only reclaimed the ground lost during the COVID-19 pandemic, but we have also soared higher than ever before.

Here are some remarkable highlights from this year’s state test results:

21.15% of our students achieved proficiency (Level 4+) in Mathematics, surpassing our pre-COVID levels by 5 percentage points!

17.30% of our students achieved proficiency (Level 4+) in English Language Arts (ELA) Test, surpassing our pre-COVID levels by 3 percentage points!

However, let’s acknowledge that even as we celebrate, there is more to be done. Our journey towards educational excellence is ongoing, and our commitment to continuous improvement remains unwavering.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you, our teachers, staff, students, and parents. Your hard work, dedication, and belief in our shared mission are what make Harmony DC PCS the exceptional place it is.

Once again, congratulations on these outstanding results. Thank you for being an integral part of the Harmony DC PCS Family.

Warm regards,

Muhammet Turkay, Ed. D.
Chief Executive Officer

Good Evening Harmony DC PCS Families,

We will be holding a few more Mandatory Virtual Family Aftercare Orientation Sessions this week and next week. Attendance at one of these meetings is necessary for admittance in Aftercare. Attendance at this meeting does not guarantee admittance into Aftercare, but it does move your position up on the waitlist. We are currently in the process of hiring more staff members for the aftercare program in order to meet the large demand. We will send out an email by the end of the week to inform families that have been accepted into the program from the waitlist.

Here are some key things to remember:

  • Attendance is mandatory at one of the family aftercare orientation sessions for admittance is required for entry into aftercare, but does not guarantee admittance. We will admit scholars from the waitlist into the program as we get additional staff members to meet the demand.
  • We are getting additional staff members this week and will have additional spaces available for next week on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • During the meetings, click the link in the chat to sign the attendance log. The attendance log lets us know who was in the meeting.
  • We will conduct virtual family aftercare orientations on:
    • Tuesday, August 22nd at 5:00 pm
    • Thursday, August 24th at 5:30 pm
    • Tuesday, August 29th at 6:00 pm
    • Wednesday, August 30th at 5:00 pm
  • If you can not make one of our meeting times, you can set up a one-on-one orientation either virtually or in person by contacting Mr. Montgomery by email (dmontgomery@harmonydc.org) or phone (202-656-7779).
