Dear Harmony DC PCS Families,
We hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. We are writing to inform you about an important update regarding our school’s COVID-19 protocols. After careful consideration and in line with the guidance provided by local health authorities, we have made the decision to remove the mask mandate for our students, staff, and visitors.
We understand that this news may elicit a mix of emotions and opinions, as the pandemic has affected us all in different ways. We want to assure you that our primary concern has always been the well-being and safety of our entire school community. The decision to lift the mask mandate is based on several factors, including a significant decrease in COVID-19 cases in our area, widespread vaccination availability, the end of Federal Covid-19 Public Health emergency, and updated guidance from health experts.
However, it is important to emphasize that the health and safety of our students remains our utmost priority. In line with this commitment, we will require any student who is feeling unwell or exhibiting symptoms of illness to wear a mask while on our premises. This precautionary measure is intended to protect the well-being of the affected student and prevent the potential spread of any contagious illnesses within our community.
While masks will no longer be required, we respect and support the personal choices of our students and families who may still wish to wear masks as an extra precaution. It is essential that we foster an environment of inclusivity and understanding where everyone’s choices are respected.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and remain prepared to adapt our protocols if circumstances change or if new guidance is issued by health authorities. Our commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment remains unwavering, and we will continue to implement stringent cleaning and sanitization practices throughout our facilities.
Thank you for your ongoing support and trust in our school. We remain dedicated to providing the best possible education and nurturing environment for our students.
Warm regards,
Muhammet Turkay, Ed. D.
Chief Executive Officer
Harmony DC Public Charter School
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We need your feedback to update our mask policy.
Please fill out the survey below by Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible work that teachers do each and every day to educate and inspire our children. Teachers are truly the backbone of our education system, and they play a critical role in shaping the future of our society.
At our organization, we are proud to have some of the best and most dedicated teachers in the field. They are passionate about their work, committed to their students, and always striving to improve their teaching practice.
But we also recognize that none of this would be possible without the support and partnership of parents like you. Your involvement in your child’s education is crucial to their success, and we are grateful for your commitment to working with our teachers to create a positive and engaging learning environment for your child.
So during this Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to both our teachers and our parents. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our students, and we look forward to continuing this important work in the years to come.
Sincerely,
PARCC Assessments for 3rd through 5th Graders are starting next Tuesday, May 9. We held a pep rally today to share students’ excitement and encourage them to do their best on the assessments

Book Fair eWallet is a digital payment option that’s a safe, convenient alternative to cash. It’s easy to create an eWallet for students to shop the Fair or for teachers to set up an eWallet to build classroom libraries. The account owner simply adds funds and/or invites family and friends to contribute. At the time of checkout, the eWallet account can be looked up on the register or scanned for payment at the Fair.
Families can set up an eWallet from their schools Book Fair homepage. From there, an eWallet information page displays. Families will be asked to sign in to Scholastic registration or set up a new account. All on-screen instructions should be followed to complete eWallet setup. eWallet funds never expire and can be used to shop online with Scholastic or to fund an eWallet for a future Book Fair.
Check out these websites to preview some of the books that will be at the fair
