2026-27 Re-Enrollment for Current Students

Dear parents, guardians, and students,

It’s almost re-enrollment season for the 2026-2027 school year. The official re-enrollment and DC residency verification will start on April 1, 2026. However, we need to know if your child(ren) will be returning next year, so we can reserve a spot for him/her. Please fill out and submit this form to the main office by February 27, 2026, to secure your child’s spot for the 2026-2027 school year. We will contact you on or after April 1, 2026, to begin the official re-enrollment process for your child for the next school year. Forms received unsigned, incomplete, or after the closing date will affect enrollment status for the next year. Please print clearly.

Bus Request Form

As you might know, we are moving to a new school building next school year. Our new building located at 2917 8th St NE is only one (1) mile away from our current location.

We are happy to announce that the school will provide a bus service from our current location at 62 T St NE to our new location 2917 8th St NE.

There will be two morning pick-up times and two afternoon drop-off times to support family schedules. The last stop on the route will be Harry Thomas Recreation Center. Please note that, based on student addresses and ridership needs, bus routes may be adjusted throughout the year.

Bus Schedule

Morning Pick-Up (Harry Thomas Recreation Center to New Location):

• 7:30 AM Pick-Up → 7:45 AM Drop-Off at New Location
• 8:00 AM Pick-Up → 8:15 AM Drop-Off at New Location

Afternoon Drop-Off (2917 8th St Ne to Harry Thomas Recreation Center):

• 3:50 PM 1st Dismissal → 4:15 PM Drop-Off
• 5:30 PM 2nd Dismissal → 5:45 PM Drop-Off

Ms. Strickland will serve as the bus monitor, and two additional staff members will be available to assist families as needed to ensure a safe and smooth experience for all students.

If you are interested in requesting bus service, please complete the transportation survey. Our staff will reach out to you as soon as bus routes and schedules are finalized.

Happy Thanksgiving- No School on Monday (11/24) & Tuesday (11/25)!

Dear Harmony DC Families,

It’s hard to believe, but Thanksgiving is here, which also means we have passed one-third of the school year. Good times fly by quickly.

As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all of our families. Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and support. Working together, we create a strong and caring school community where our students can learn, grow, and thrive.

We are grateful for the encouragement you give your children, the collaboration you show our staff, and the vibrant spirit you bring to our school every day. Your involvement truly makes a difference.

Please remember that there will be no school on Monday and Tuesday next week in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

On behalf of the entire Harmony DC team, I wish you and your loved ones a joyful, restful, and safe Thanksgiving. Enjoy this special time with family and friends.

Immunization Resources

It is very important that all students are up to date on their immunizations.

Students who do not have the required immunization records may not be allowed to enroll or attend school in the District of Columbia. Please do not wait until the last minute—make sure your child’s immunizations are current as soon as possible.

Celebrating Our State Test Results – A Strong Year of Growth!

Dear Harmony DC Community,

We are thrilled to share the latest news on our student performance: on Thursday, August 21, 2025, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) released the 2024–25 state test results. 

We are proud to share exciting news about our students’ performance on the recent state assessments. Compared to last year, Harmony DC improved its scores in every category, demonstrating the hard work and progress of our scholars.

Most notably, our school achieved one of the highest improvement scores in Washington, DC for students scoring Level 3 and above in both Math and English Language Arts (ELA).

A few highlights

  • The percentage of students achieving ELA Level 3 or higher rose dramatically from 18% to 38%, marking an incredible improvement of 20%. The ELA proficiency level has increased from 7.7% to 10.2%. 
  • In mathematics,  the percentage of students reaching Math Level 3 or higher improved from 36% to 52%, showing a remarkable gain of 16%. Additionally,  the proficiency level increased from 9.8% to 16.3%. 

These results highlight the dedication of our teachers, the perseverance of our students, and the strong support from our families. 

We are deeply proud of our scholars’ progress and even more motivated to continue raising the bar.

2025 Summer School Registration

Harmony DC PCS is organizing a Summer School program. Summer School is offered to current Kindergarten through 5th Grade Students. Complete and submit this form by Wednesday, May 28, 2025 to confirm your enrollment into the program.

Dates: June 20 (Monday) – July 18 (Friday) Monday through Friday (except for July 4)

Parent Orientation: June 12 (3:30-4 pm)

Daily Schedule: 8:00 am – 3:50 pm

Morning: Academic Sessions

Afternoon: Enrichment Sessions

Breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge to all students.

Early dismissal at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

After careful consideration, we decided to dismiss students at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 due to expected snow in the afternoon.

Please pick up your child at 1:00 pm. If you need to come earlier than 1:00 pm, please do so.

There will be no aftercare tomorrow. All students will be dismissed at 1:00 pm.

Picture Day –

Dear Families,

Picture Day is coming up! It will take place on Friday, January 24. Be sure to mark your calendars and have your child dressed and ready for the occasion.

Order forms will be distributed on Monday, January 13th. We will also share how you can order online, please check our website and class dojo posts.

Winter Wonderland Celebration

Harmony Mustang Families!

We will be having a Winter Wonderland Celebration coming up on December 20th.

In order for scholars to be invited, they need to earn at least 100 Classroom Dojo points between this past Monday, December 2nd, and Friday December 13th.

Scholars that have earned the celebration will be informed by Tuesday, December 17th.

Scholars that earn our celebration will enjoy a variety of winter themed crafts and fun activities before we head home on winter break.
